Our company is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to be working onsite in Skelleftea, Sweden for a leading engineering services contractor currently involved in complex technical projects in life sciences, pharmaceutical and data centre schemes across Europe. The organisation’s division includes Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sprinkler and Fire Protection and also offer other exceptional services in Off Site Fabrication, Waste to Energy (BioEnergy),  Technical Support Services, Asset Management, Specialist Lift, Maintenance, BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Geo-Surveying. 

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for all aspects of project engineering associated with the mechanical subcontract package including design development and engineering, value engineering, field support, engineering quality control, technical reviews and procurement, testing, commissioning & startup, for a large value production facilitate, reporting to the  Mechanical Project Manager. You will be required to manage the mechanical engineering team and interface with in-house commissioning & quality teams and the in-house electrical team to ensure system design requirements are coordinated and delivered. You will be required to review all equipment technical submittals and ensure these meet the requirements of the design. 

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Mechanical Degree is essential.

  • Hold excellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems and products.

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

  • Minimum 8 years experience in mechanical roles with at least 3 years’ in a lead role.

  • Understanding of project planning, construction sequencing and critical path.

  • Previous experience working in Sweden is an advantage but not essential.

  • Have a sound understanding of mechanical and HVAC system commissioning & startup.

  • Knowledge in BMS systems is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of clean & dry rooms required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary.

  • Excellent IT skills.
