Site Engineer

Our client is a leading Irish main contractor with a turnover of approximately €500m, delivering high-quality construction projects across residential, commercial, education, public sector, and civil engineering sectors throughout Ireland and the UK.
Due to continued expansion of their residential division, they are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the delivery team on a major new build mixed-use development in Dublin. The project comprises a large-scale residential scheme delivering multiple apartment blocks and housing units, alongside associated commercial, retail, and amenity spaces, forming a significant urban regeneration development.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site delivery teams through accurate engineering control, setting out, quality assurance, and coordination of subcontractor activities. You will be involved in both structural and external works phases, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme and specification requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out setting out and surveying duties across all phases of the project
• Provide engineering control for RC frame structures, apartment blocks, and housing units
• Ensure accurate dimensional control for drainage, services, roads, and external works
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
• Support site management in coordinating multiple work fronts across a fast-paced programme
• Undertake regular quality assurance inspections and maintain detailed site records
• Produce and maintain as-built drawings, setting out data, and QA documentation
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site, escalating where required
• Assist in coordination of subcontractors and specialist trades on site
• Support short-term planning, sequencing, and daily site coordination activities
• Ensure strict compliance with health & safety standards and site procedures
• Assist with snagging, punch lists, and handover preparation for residential units
• Liaise with design teams, consultants, and project engineers to resolve technical queries

Applicants must be already based in Ireland to be considered for this role 

Key Requirements
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments
• Strong background working with a main contractor on multi-unit projects essential
• Experience with RC frame construction and/or apartment block delivery highly desirable
• Strong setting out skills using total station and/or GPS equipment
• Good understanding of civils, drainage, utilities, and external works packages
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance standards
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a large site team environment
• Strong understanding of health & safety practices on active construction sites
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
