Site Engineer

Our client is a leading international contractor specialising in the delivery of hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects across Europe. With a strong track record in complex engineering delivery, they provide full turnkey solutions from enabling works through to commissioning and handover.
Due to continued growth across their European portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the delivery team on a major data centre development in Amsterdam.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site operations, ensuring works are set out accurately, delivered safely, and constructed in line with design specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements. The Site Engineer will work closely with project managers, package managers, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure smooth coordination of on-site activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide setting out and surveying support for all site activities
• Ensure accurate dimensional control across civil, structural, and infrastructure works
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design information
• Support delivery of groundwork, drainage, utilities, and external works packages
• Carry out site inspections and quality assurance checks
• Identify and report technical issues, discrepancies, and potential risks
• Assist in coordinating subcontractor activities and resolving on-site queries
• Maintain accurate site records including as-builts, QA documentation, and daily reports
• Ensure all works are carried out in line with health & safety requirements
• Support planning and sequencing of works in coordination with site teams
• Liaise with design and engineering teams to resolve RFIs and technical queries
• Assist in progress tracking and reporting against programme milestones

Key Requirements
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large-scale construction projects
• Previous experience in data centre or mission-critical environments is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of setting out, surveying, and construction control processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience working with subcontractors and site delivery teams
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and site documentation
• Competent with surveying equipment (e.g. total station, GPS systems)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, large multidisciplinary project environment
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
