Our client is a leading international contractor specialising in the delivery of hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects across Europe. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and complex project delivery, the company provides full turnkey solutions from early enabling works through to commissioning and handover.
Due to continued growth across their European data centre portfolio, our client is seeking an experienced Civils Package Manager to join the delivery team on a major data centre development in Amsterdam.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all civil engineering packages across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in accordance with design and quality requirements. The Civils Package Manager will play a key role in coordinating groundworks, drainage, external works, and infrastructure delivery while working closely with wider project and commercial teams.
The successful candidate will interface with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, designers, and client representatives to ensure all civil packages are executed in line with project objectives, programme requirements, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage all civils packages including enabling works, earthworks, drainage, utilities, foundations, and external works
• Oversee subcontractors and civil engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of works
• Develop and monitor construction sequencing and programme alignment for all civils activities
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, engineering standards, and project requirements
• Monitor progress against programme milestones and implement recovery strategies where required
• Coordinate with design and engineering teams to resolve technical queries and RFIs
• Ensure strict adherence to health & safety legislation and promote a strong site safety culture
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks across all civils activities
• Support commercial teams with cost control, variations, and subcontractor management
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth interface between civils and structural/building works
• Provide regular progress reporting and updates to senior project management and client teams
• Support commissioning, handover, and final documentation of civil works packages

Key Requirements
• Proven experience as a Civils Package Manager or Senior Civil Engineer on large-scale construction projects
• Previous experience within data centre or mission-critical environments is highly desirable
• Strong technical understanding of civil engineering works including earthworks, drainage, utilities, and foundations
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex work packages
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project controls, and QA/QC processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to delivery challenges
• Ability to work effectively within large, multidisciplinary project teams
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
