MEP Project Engineer

Location: London Salary: 70,000 to 75,000 + Package

I am urgently seeking a Mechanically biased Building Services MEP Project Engineer for a privately owned and family run MEP Contractor based on the Surrey/London border.

This is NOT a pure installation role, you will need to fully understand the design process from Tender through implementation through to completion.

You will, however, be site based and be the company's linchpin in assisting Project Managers and the Operations Director of the business.

The main fundamentals and responsibilities of the role are outlined below:-

Responsibilities:

Engineering of single or multiple projects (depending on size) from tender to design development, procurement, construction, handover and defect liability period stages

Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, builders, architects and surveyors, and in-house project teams

Working with the estimating team to produce successful tender bids for potential projects

Development of Consultants drawings, with emphasis on the technical and practical merits of their drawings, to produce construction/working drawings

Working with detailed diagrams, plans and drawings

Interpreting specialist CAD drawings & BIM models and other resources to design the systems required for the project

Procuring a variety of specialist sub contract and plant and equipment orders up to a value of £2M.

Managing the design of specialist sub contract elements of projects from procurement through to handover e.g. mechanical and BMS controls and fire sprinkler systems

Attending on-site project programme/technical/commercial meetings when required

Working with the commercial team within the business to control procurement, produce financial forecasts and manage risk

Managing the commissioning of mechanical services on multiple projects

Specifying operations and maintenance procedures to clients

Conducting all duties with the health and safety of all at the forefront of each and every action

Qualifications & Experience:

Previously held a building mechanical services engineer’s role within a contracting/sub- contracting construction business.

Strong practical and design knowledge of building mechanical services

Demonstrable commitment through longevity of service and achievements within previous roles

Demonstrate astute commercial awareness
