Location: London Salary: £65,000- 70,000 DOE + Package

Our client, an established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor, working on a nationwide basis, is seeking Intermediate to Senior level Quantity Surveyors. This contractor operates within the Utilities, Pharma and Energy sectors and boasts a full order book running to 2026 presently. As M&E Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to mechanical and electrical engineering projects including providing cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring that the project is completed within the approved financial limits. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:  

  • Develop a comprehensive project budget based on project scope, specifications, and contractual requirements. 

  • Manage the cost planning and management for M&E projects, including estimating, budgeting, and cost control measures. 

  • Present an accurate and informed report on the project's cost performance. 

  • Manage the preparation and evaluation of subcontract packages, contributing to interim and final valuations. 

  • Evaluate and analyze contracts and identify key terms, conditions and obligations related to cost management. 

  • Collaborate with project teams and engineers to process and polish cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including contract conditions, quantities of bills, and subcontractor packages. 

  • Implement effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and identify potential issues and present reliable solutions. 

  • Proactively join in project meetings, providing expertise and insights on cost management issues and strategies. 

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field. 

  • 8+ years of M&E Quantity Surveying experience within construction, ideally in Data Centre and Pharmaceutical contracts. 

  • Main/Sub- Contractor experience on large scale projects is beneficial. 

  • Proficiency in M&E Quantity Surveying software and tools.  

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
