Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering and construction company involved in a variety of sectors, is looking for a dedicated Graduate Quantity Surveyor for their projects in Kildare. As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in managing costs and contracts on various construction projects.
Key responsibilities & Requirements:
Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
Carry out cost analysis and provide cost advice during the pre-construction phase considering the project expenditures against budgets.
Assist in preparing tender documents and contract documents, including bills of quantities, evaluating tenders, and selecting contractors and suppliers.
Help manage procurement processes and negotiate contracts.
Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts including the preparation and submission of payment applications.
Identify potential issues that may affect project development and develop solutions ensuring all work complies with legal and regulatory standards.
Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders and provide necessary regular updates and reports on project costs and progress.
Assign tasks to junior staff while maintaining accountability.
Attend meetings/trainings and contribute to the best of your knowledge enhancing professional growth and learning from the team.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Willing to move forward to being a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
Commercial awareness is an advantage.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrates exceptional presentation, verbal/written communication skills.
Proficiency of Quantity Surveying software & codes.
Strong understanding of Civil Engineering and Steel Structures.
