Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Dublin-based design team, supporting the delivery of a wide range of technically challenging projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and coordination of building services systems across projects from concept through to construction and handover. Working closely with clients, architects, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in delivering innovative, efficient, and compliant engineering solutions tailored to client requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure all mechanical design activities are delivered in line with project objectives, programme requirements, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services systems across multiple projects
• Prepare detailed mechanical designs, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
• Develop HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, and domestic water system designs
• Coordinate with electrical, public health, structural, and architectural teams throughout project delivery
• Attend client, design, and site meetings as required
• Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements
• Support the production of tender documentation and technical submissions
• Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and value engineering exercises
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and client representatives during construction and commissioning phases
• Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed in line with programme and budget requirements
• Support the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion

Key Requirements
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within a building services consultancy environment
• Previous experience across education, residential, commercial, and/or pharmaceutical projects is highly desirable
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services systems
• Proficient in industry-standard design software and calculations tools
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design projects
• Strong understanding of Irish and European building regulations and industry standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within collaborative design teams
• Degree-qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Chartered status or progression towards chartership is desirable
