Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Hybrid/Remote (Ireland) We are working with a well-established Irish engineering consultancy delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across data centres, pharmaceutical, commercial, and education sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding design team. This is a flexible hybrid/remote role, offering the opportunity to work on high-profile, technically complex projects while maintaining excellent work-life balance. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of electrical building services systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams from concept through to construction and handover.
• Design electrical building services systems across multiple sectors (data centres, pharma, commercial, education)
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or similar)
€90,000 – €110,000 + Package | Hybrid/Remote Working
This role suits an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who enjoys a varied project portfolio and wants to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings
• Develop LV/HV electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems
• Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams
• Attend design meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
• Support project delivery from concept design through to completion
• Review drawings and provide technical input to resolve design challenges
• Assist with site inspections and commissioning support where required
About You
• Strong experience in electrical design within a consultancy environment
• Experience across sectors such as data centres, pharma, commercial, or education
• Proficient in design software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux/Relux, Amtech or similar)
• Strong understanding of LV/HV systems, power distribution, and lighting design
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (ET101, IEC, BS standards)
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
