Mechanical Construction Manager

Our client is a leading international contractor delivering complex, large-scale data centre projects across Europe, providing full turnkey solutions from design through to construction and commissioning. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and high-quality project delivery, the company has become a trusted name within the mission-critical sector.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to oversee mechanical delivery on a major data centre development in Zurich.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all mechanical construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Mechanical Construction Manager will play a key role in driving programme delivery, coordinating subcontractors, and managing interfaces across multiple mechanical and multidisciplinary work packages throughout all phases of construction.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives, the successful candidate will ensure all mechanical works are executed in line with design intent, programme requirements, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage all mechanical construction activities across the full project lifecycle
• Oversee installation works relating to HVAC, chilled water, pipework, ductwork, ventilation, and associated mechanical systems
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
• Monitor construction progress against programme milestones and implement recovery actions where required
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with design specifications, drawings, and project standards
• Manage quality inspections, technical reviews, and compliance checks across all mechanical packages
• Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA, and commissioning teams throughout the construction programme
• Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues in collaboration with engineering and design teams
• Drive high standards of health & safety across all mechanical site activities
• Attend and lead site meetings, progress reviews, and subcontractor coordination meetings
• Support construction planning, logistics coordination, and sequencing activities
• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery
• Ensure all project documentation, reporting, and site records are maintained accurately

Key Requirements
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, or Building Services Manager on large-scale construction projects
• Previous experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large commercial projects is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems and construction methodologies
• Experience managing HVAC, chilled water, and pipework installations on complex projects
• Excellent knowledge of construction health & safety regulations and quality assurance procedures
• Experience working within live or mission-critical environments is advantageous
• Degree-qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
