Project Planner - Infrastructure/Rail – Cork

An established and growing infrastructure contractor delivering complex rail and civil engineering projects across Ireland is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join its Cork-based team.
This role sits at the centre of project delivery, supporting major infrastructure and rail programmes across multiple disciplines. You will work closely with engineering, commercial, and site teams to develop and manage detailed project schedules that reflect real construction sequencing and operational constraints.
The organisation operates a hands-on delivery model, meaning planning is closely aligned to site execution. Projects typically involve complex interfaces across civils, track, and rail systems, requiring a planner who can build and manage programmes that are both technically robust and practically achievable.

Responsibilities

•   Programme Development and Ownership
Develop and maintain fully logic linked Primavera P6 programmes across all project phases from tender through to completion
•   Multi-Disciplinary Coordination
Coordinate planning activities across civils, track, and rail systems, ensuring alignment across all workstreams and interfaces
•   Progress Tracking and Reporting
Produce and manage baseline schedules, regular updates, and short-term lookahead programmes aligned with live site progress
•   Rail Access and Operational Planning
Work closely with delivery teams to integrate rail access constraints, possessions, and operational requirements into the programme
•   Performance Analysis and Recovery Planning
Provide detailed progress analysis including critical path identification, delay assessment, and recovery planning to support project performance

Requirements

Must have relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent trades background
Must have 8+ years’ experience on a similar role on Large-Scale infrastructure projects or similar
Must be based within a commutable distance of Cork
