Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Gatwick Salary: £40.000 - £50.000 + package

(MEP) Assistant Quantity Surveyor will provide crucial commercial support to the business, including our Delivery and Operational Services teams. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will report to the Finance Director and be responsible for the financial management of contracts involving the establishment and maintenance of relationships with Clients & and consultants, including preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts, identification and evaluation of variations etc.

The job holder will work closely with unified teams to ensure projects are delivered in a controlled manner, on time and budget. They will also be focused on the delivery of business objectives and KPIs. 

Key Duties

  • Preparation, processing and issuing of:
  • purchase orders 
  • subcontract invoices
  • sub-contract order documentation
  • pre-sale procurement schedule, including the issue of RFPs when required
  • client variations
  • client monthly applications
  • revenue allocation documentation
  • supply chain/sub-contract site instructions downstream
  • contract sale invoices
  • pre-tender start meeting with the Company supply chain before issuing sub-contract orders 
  • Preparation and processing of cost reports Delivery & OP's
  • Adding variations to Evision/Evaluate
  • Creating new projects to Evaluate
  • Gate form procedures
  • Cashflows upstream/downstream
  • Better buying/ supply chain improvements
  • Undertaking the valuing of variations and potential variations
  • Agreeing on sub-contract accounts, valuing sub-contract works / final accounts

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous commercial/project experience within the M & E sector, including associated enabling/refurb work.
  • Would it possibly suit a second-position graduate with a relevant degree in construction-related discipline, or equivalent
  • Competent in the use of relevant IT tools
