Our client, an established contractor delivering multi-disciplinary projects committed to excellence, innovation and sustainability that delivers top notch services is urgently looking for a creative and skilled 3D CAD Designer on a Work From Home set up with occasional site visits. As 3D CAD Designer you will be responsible for creating detailed & accurate 3D models & technical drawings for a variety of mechanical systems in the gas utilities sector. As an ideal candidate, you have a strong background in CAD software, remarkable attention to detail and ability to interpret conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Develop detailed 3D models using AutoCAD 2&3D software.
Check that 3D models accurately represent design specifications, dimensions, and features.
Develop technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints based on 3D models, incorporating dimensions, annotations, and other necessary information.
Generate clear and concise drawings that can be easily interpreted by engineers, design managers and other stakeholders.
Team up with design managers,engineers, architects, and other professionals to optimize designs for functionality & effectivity.
Accommodate revisions and modifications to 3D models and drawings based on feedback and design iterations.
Carry out quality checks and reviews of 3D models and technical drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards and specifications.
Identify and resolve any issues, risks or errors and record in the CDM Risk Register in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015.
Collaborate with design managers, project managers, and other team members to prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Maintain organized records of 3D models, technical drawings, and design revisions, ensuring version control and document management.
Prepare regular progress reports and updates on design activities, milestones, and project status.
Participate in meetings when needed and contribute to the best of your knowledge.
Degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or related field.
Proven track record as CAD Designer in Engineering, Procurement & Construction Projects.
Proficiency in CAD softwares and tools.
Remarkable experience in design and verification of Onshore UK and International Gas Network (Pipeline and AGI) projects.
Strong knowledge in CAD methods, materials and systems.
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
