Mechanical Associate Director - South East London
This position is well-suited for an ambitious, self-motivated team player with experience in a smaller consultancy requiring design and management skills. The ideal candidate can produce designs from initial concept to completion, manage clients, and lead team members.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid UK driving licens
- Preferably Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Chartered Engineering
- Experience in a small or medium-sized consulting engineering practice
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of IES, Cymap, and REVIT
- Strong technical knowledge and design coordination skills
- Hands-on design and delivery experience
- Experience in condition surveys, feasibility studies, and budget estimates for mechanical services
- Good commercial awareness
- Knowledge of current Building Regulations, Renewable technologies, Thermal Modelling, SAPs, SBEM Calculations, EPCs, BREEAM, Passivhaus Standards (not essential)
- Strong client interface and Construction Industry Knowledge
Experience in:
- Revit MEP/AutoCAD
- Current Building Regulations, Renewable technologies, IES Thermal Modelling, SAPs, SBEM Calculations, EPCs, BREEAM, GLA London Plan, Passivhaus Standards
- Working in a small/medium-sized consultancy
- Design capacity for a large contractor or local authority/housing association
- Project management of multi-disciplinary projects
- Detailed specifications production
- Design calculations using manual and software
- Manual production of detailed drawings (CAD experience essential)
- Tender packages production
- Tender analysis of returned packages
- Budget costings production for all service aspects
- Site surveys across the UK using own car or public transport
- On-site project management
- Production of condition/dilapidation/CIF bid reports
- Budget estimates production
