M&E Quantity Surveyor - Data Centre - Sweden

As part of our ongoing expansion within the Data Centre sector, our client is seeking a M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our team for projects located in Sweden. These projects are of significant scale and situated in a region poised for further growth, presenting an excellent opportunity for an ambitious SQS to advance their career with the guidance and support of our senior commercial team members based in Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full scope of Mechanical projects and budgets, varying in size, primarily on mainland Europe.
  • Ensure adherence to contract obligations and provide guidance to the construction team.
  • Identify potential commercial risks and promptly report them to management.
  • Prepare monthly progress applications, incorporating accurate remeasurements, site variations, day-works, and claims.
  • Handle operational procurement activities and provide contract support in collaboration with the Procurement Department.
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account settlement.
  • Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects.
  • Review and manage all projects commercially to ensure precise and dependable reporting.
  • Analyze and report on trends within the Business & Projects.
  • Review incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Teams, and subcontractors, identifying critical contractual matters and initiating responses.
  • Ensure the Construction Team complies with all Contractual Requirements, offering advice and monitoring compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-functional team and work independently when necessary.
  • Utilize excellent IT skills for project management and reporting.
  • Assist in developing our supply chain with European-based vendors/sub-contractors, conducting both commercial and technical analysis of their quotations.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and perform well under tight deadlines.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Essential third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics.
  • Previous experience in Data Centre projects preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2-6 years' post-qualification experience required.
  • Experience in an MEP role is necessary.
  • Proficiency in IT tools and software is essential.
  • Demonstrates exceptional presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
