A dedicated data center delivery partner is seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager for a long-term project in Sweden. With a focus on turnkey solutions, the company specializes in delivering data center projects from design to construction across Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate design engineers, BIM teams, and external design consultants as the Project Lead.
- Coordinate with the client's design team for project build and site-wide design and services.
- Ensure design development aligns with the construction schedule and progress.
- Plan and lead design & engineering workshops to address issues and ensure advancement ahead of site activities.
- Oversee the Technical submittal (TS) process, ensuring adherence to specifications and timely submissions.
- Manage the design query process, raising issues in weekly workshops and following up on RFI’s.
- Oversee IFC releases and updates, coordinating with the design team and engineers.
- Lead weekly Design/Engineering meetings with internal and external teams.
- Maintain a design risk register, communicating potential upcoming risks to senior management and the client.
- Manage the design and submittal process for the FFE package in the admin buildings.
- Report design & engineering progress in weekly client meetings, highlighting concerns/risks.
- Coordinate contractor construction drawings and models, ensuring timely approvals.
- Manage contractors' as-built drawings and models for planned handover.
- Ensure contractors submit all required documentation, O&M manuals, and adhere to client platforms.
- Coordinate and manage LEED requirements, liaising with the client’s design team and external consultants.
- Ensure project quality plans are submitted, and QA procedures are implemented on site.
- Generate monthly design progress reports and liaise with the Project Manager and Project Director.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years’ experience in delivering large-scale projects, including data centers.
- Data center experience is advantageous.
- Degree-level background preferred, in a relevant construction discipline.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
