Our client is an established and successful specialist contractor undertaking Roofing, Cladding & Façade packages for Tier 1 Main Contractor across Ireland, UK, and Europe. They are particularly busy with data center projects and currently involved in multiple hyper-scale new build data center projects across Europe.
Due to this continued growth, our client is now seeking an experienced Design Manager who will lead a team of designers, engineers, and consultants to develop a comprehensive design solution that meets project requirements on time and within the budget. This role can be on a Work from Home set up.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Lead the development of project design strategies, goals, and objectives in collaboration with project stakeholders and clients.
Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure that design plans meet project requirements and comply with relevant codes and standards.
Oversee the development of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical design concepts and drawings of the projects.
Verify and approve design documents, specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Lead the design reviews, audits, submittals, and inspections to identify and address specifications & ensure financial opportunities are maximized.
Report on design & engineering progress in weekly client meetings, highlighting concerns in the ongoing project.
Carry out quality control measures and procedures to identify and address construction errors and deficiencies as early as possible & notify the Senior Management.
Assist in system testing to verify design functionality.
Degree in Engineering/ Construction Management or related field.
5+ years’ experience as a Design Manager in construction projects.
Main contractor experience involved in Roofing, Cladding & Façade packages contracts is an advantage.
Strong understanding of design principles, construction method and health & safety.
Proficient in using design management softwares and tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Current Driver’s License.
