QAQC Mechanical Engineer - Cork - Ireland 

As a QAQC Engineer, you will hold a crucial position in our project delivery efforts. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the Quality Management System, fostering a culture of quality on our projects. Our Quality Management System, accredited with ISO9001:2015, ensures that all aspects of our operations maintain the highest standards consistently, reflecting our core value of quality in everything we do. Working closely with the Quality Manager, Project Manager, and a diverse team of engineers and industry experts, you will contribute to the successful delivery of cutting-edge projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications by meticulously developing and executing project quality plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure overall workmanship aligns with associated specifications and codes.
  • Maintain full traceability of plant and materials specifications.
  • Control all documentation related to quality assurance and quality control.
  • Confirm that all relevant check sheets and documentation are duly signed and maintained.
  • Coordinate all documentation for project handover.
  • Compile walkdown schedules and documentation packs.

This role offers exposure to various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, data centers, semiconductor, construction, and more. The successful candidate will receive support in expanding their knowledge and skills as their responsibilities evolve.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Relevant third-level qualification in Mechanical/Building Services or Manufacturing Engineering, or a suitable Trade Qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of ductwork documentation, including Isometrics, P & ID’s, Material Certification, and Piping Specifications.
  • Essential proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with large QA database systems such as Eida, etc.
  • Basic understanding of Duct manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to compile Test Packs and Handover Documentation, including identifying and flagging test limits, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a contracting environment.
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive under strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in line walking would be highly advantageous.
