QAQC Mechanical Manager - Data Centre - Sweden

The candidate will be reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, will assume responsibility for overseeing the quality of mechanical installations within a significant, high-tech facility. This role entails conducting inspections of equipment and materials upon receipt, overseeing fabrication and weld inspections, as well as installation inspections. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with generating punch lists and coordinating de-snagging activities. Effective communication and collaboration with in-house mechanical and electrical teams, as well as external project partners such as vendors and subcontractors, are essential aspects of this position.

Job Description:

  • Academic and/or trade qualifications in the mechanical discipline are required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Mechanical Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) within Industrial-type projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Since the role involves direct interaction with clients, strong communication skills and the ability to deliver effective presentations are essential. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in presenting specification requirements and ensuring compliance.
  • While experience in data centers is desirable, it is not mandatory.
  • Proficiency and familiarity with piping and HVAC systems are necessary.
  • Weld inspection qualifications are required, along with a good understanding of EN standards.
  • Responsibilities will include conducting QAQC walkdowns, inspections, and documentation associated with equipment; carbon steel piping systems; HVAC ducting systems; plumbing and drainage systems; preparation of test packs; witnessing pressure testing; maintaining and presenting weld information and records; weekly reporting on QAQC performance; troubleshooting; preparation of punch lists; and verification of punch clearance.
  • The candidate will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and construction team to ensure that quality standards are met with minimal issues.
