We are assisting one of London’s leading Fit Out & Refurbishment Contractors with a turnover of over £100 million who is seeking to hire an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Central/East London. As Intermediate Quantity Surveyor you will provide support including assisting in developing strategy for specific projects by maintaining and maximizing the profitability of the projects, through timely requests for payment, minimizing cost including sub-contractor, agreement of variations, securing of payments at the appropriate time and accurate reporting.  

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:  

  • Help in developing comprehensive project budgets based on project scope, specifications, and contractual requirements.  

  • Collaborate with project teams and engineers to process and refine cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.  

  • Evaluate and analyze contracts and identify key terms, conditions and obligations related to cost management.  

  • Assist in verifying quantities and measurements on site, collaborating with project teams to address errors and ensure accuracy.  

  • Help in implementing effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and identify potential issues and present reliable solutions.  

  • Help in generating regular financial reports and forecasts, providing analysis and insights on project cost performance.  

  • Participate in project meetings, providing expertise and insights on cost management issues and strategies.  

  • Degree/qualifications in Quantity Surveying or related field. 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working within the construction industry.  

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.  

  • Fit out/ refurbishment project experience is an advantage. 

  • Strong understanding of all forms of contracts within the construction industry.  

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.  

  • Knowledgeable in QS software and tools.
