Senior Project Director Prestigious New Stadium. Rome, Italy Key Responsibilities Requirements This is a high-profile leadership role on one of the world’s most prestigious stadium projects, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on a globally iconic sports venue.
We are seeking a Senior Project Director to lead the delivery of a world-class, highly prestigious new football stadium in Rome, Italy. This is a rare opportunity to manage all aspects of project implementation for one of the world’s leading sports venues, overseeing design, construction, and commissioning from start to finish.
• Lead day-to-day project management, supervising Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project Controls, and Assistant Project Managers.
• Manage all Client direct contracts, including architects, engineers, consultants, and construction agreements.
• Monitor project budget, schedule, and design completion; conduct regular status meetings and report progress to the Client.
• Oversee procurement processes for subconsultants, vendors, and client-direct works.
• Establish and lead project team meetings to track design, construction, budget, and schedule progress.
• Manage quality control, risk mitigation, and contractor performance on site.
• Review and negotiate change orders, time extension requests, and additional services to protect project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate approvals, permits, league and government authorizations, and support obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy.
• Facilitate commissioning and handover of the new venue.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment across all project teams and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering high-value, complex sports, entertainment, or public assembly venues.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including ownership or board-level reporting.
• Exceptional communication skills in English and Italian.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Project preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organised, analytical, and collaborative, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to complex project requirements.
