A leading European data centre delivery specialist is seeking a Design Engineer to join its growing in-house design team in Dublin.

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Design Engineer will support the development, coordination, and delivery of high-quality design solutions on a major data centre project. This role offers excellent exposure to large-scale mission-critical engineering, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, BIM specialists, and external consultants.
It is ideally suited to an engineer looking to build long-term experience in complex data centre and advanced technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Design Manager in delivering coordinated designs from concept through construction and commissioning
Produce, review, and coordinate design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation in line with project specifications and standards
Liaise with internal engineering teams, BIM teams, and external consultants to ensure fully coordinated and clash-free designs
Assist with the Technical Submittal (TS) process, ensuring alignment with programme and client requirements
Respond to design queries and RFIs accurately and within agreed timeframes
Support design change management, identifying impacts on cost, programme, and constructability
Participate in design workshops, coordination meetings, and internal technical reviews
Ensure all design outputs comply with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards
Assist with preparation of as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and final handover deliverables
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
2–5 years’ experience in a design engineering role within a contractor or consultancy environment
Experience on large-scale projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, or commercial developments is advantageous
Strong understanding of design coordination and construction methodologies
Experience working with BIM and digital construction tools is desirable
Proficient in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software is an advantage
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach
