Site Manager Civils, Groundworks & Structures The Role Requirements What’s on Offer This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of the civil, groundworks, and structural delivery on one of Europe’s most advanced data centre projects.
Our client is a multi-disciplined main contractor operating across the UK and Europe with a turnover of €750m and sustained annual growth of 5%–7.5%. They deliver large-scale, turnkey projects for blue-chip clients, with a strong focus on data centres and other technology-heavy developments.
Following a recent project win, our client is now seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the civil, groundworks, and structural packages on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. This is a senior site-based role responsible for ensuring the safe, high-quality, and on-programme delivery of key structural elements.
Reporting to the Project Manager / Construction Manager, the Site Manager will lead the civil, groundworks, and structural teams on site. Key responsibilities include:
• Managing all aspects of civil, structural, and groundworks packages
• Supervising subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
• Planning, coordinating, and sequencing works to optimise efficiency and mitigate risk
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to guide construction activities
• Managing RFIs, site instructions, and design clarifications
• Coordinating with MEP, CSA, and commissioning teams to manage interfaces
• Reporting site progress, risks, and issues to senior project leadership
• Supporting inspections, testing, and handover of civils and structural works
• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Engineer on large-scale civils and structural projects
• Strong experience delivering groundworks, foundations, and structural packages (data centres, industrial, or high-spec commercial projects advantageous)
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site safety
• Experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Willingness to be site-based in Frankfurt (rotational or expat basis)
