Assistant Quantity Surveyor Our client is a multi-disciplined main contractor operating across the UK and Europe with a turnover of €750m and sustained annual growth of 5%–7.5%. They deliver large-scale, turnkey projects for blue-chip clients, with a strong focus on data centres and other technology-heavy developments. Due to a recent project win, our client is now seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a major data centre build in Frankfurt, Germany. This is an excellent opportunity to gain international project experience on a high-profile, fast-paced scheme while working alongside an experienced commercial team.
Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the commercial management of the project from early stages through to completion. Key responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Supporting the preparation and submission of interim valuations
• Assisting with subcontract procurement and tender analysis
• Measurement and valuation of works
• Assisting with change management, variations, and final accounts
• Working closely with site and project teams to ensure commercial control
• Maintaining accurate records and commercial documentation
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with a main contractor
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (experience with cost management software advantageous)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to be based on site in Frankfurt (relocation support typically provided)
