PROFESSIONAL QUANTITY SURVEYOR- Freelance – Glasgow

Location: Glasgow Salary: £400 per day

PROFESSIONAL QUANTITY SURVEYOR- Freelance – Glasgow £400 per day

 

The Role

The role can include but is not limited to:

• Cost management of projects from inception to completion, including benchmarking, budget development, contractor procurement, and cost-control.

• Producing Value reports and recommendations on adherence to budget, quality criteria, and buildability.

• Assisting with preparation and control of internal budgets and profit targets to deliver project management services.

• Tracking project status and providing updates to relevant internal stakeholders.

• Maintaining strong working relationships with Clients, Consultants, Contractors and Sub-contractors.

• Assisting with preparation and analysis of tenders (including pre-qualification).

• Assisting with Contract Administration, final accounts, estimating cost planning, and reporting.

• Preparing and managing consultant agreements and contracts ensuring compliance with all responses to communications, payments, submissions, etc.

• Leading the cost management activity across the works program to ensure delivery standards meet expectations.

• Analysing and reviewing complex information from a range of data sources including identifying how different options may impact project delivery and advising clients and internal stakeholders on potential implications.

 

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in quantity surveying, cost management or equivalent qualification and a member of a relevant institution such as RICS would be beneficial

• Project-based experience of working on construction projects/M&E.

• Excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate the preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations.

• The ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• The ability to contribute towards the resolution of disputes, problems, and cost issues.

• The ability to work on own initiative, with the drive to take ownership of projects.

• Communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
