Senior Project Manager – Data Centre – Netherlands


Our client is an established and respected general Civil Engineering sub-contractor operating across Europe. Their European division undertakes large civil engineering packages on behalf of Tier-1 main contractors primarily involved in the construction of data centres and pharmaceutical schemes.

This organisation undertakes Civil Packages including; Installation of duct networks, precast chambers, pressurised systems, and drainage. RC foundations & slabs, Roads, Hard & soft landscaping, Groundworks / Earthworks, Builders / Enabling works, Concrete / RC Frame, Superstructure, Piling and general external Works

The need now exists for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the delivery team working on a Data Centre project in the Netherlands.  

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible in ensuring our major projects are completed on time and within budget, the project objectives are met in line with the company standards. You will be responsible for setting, maintaining, and leading the project organisation. You will oversee the project to ensure the desired result is achieved, the most efficient resources are used, and the stakeholders involved are satisfied.



·      Delivery of major projects to programme, budget, HSEQ, client and contract requirements

·      Agreeing the timescales, costs and resources needed to deliver the project

·      Selecting, maintaining, and leading a project team

·      Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services

·      Reporting regularly on progress to the client

·      Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders

·      Resolving any issues/ delays which may occur

·      Communicating with clients, contractors, colleagues, and suppliers on the progress of a project

·      Demonstrating knowledge of all areas of construction

·      Managing your site-based team and liaising with support services

·      Managing the project commercially, including owning the budget, allocating resources to manage it, and reporting to the project director

·      Any other reasonable requests as required by the needs of the business.

·      Degree qualified, HND/C as a minimum

·      SMSTS

·      Demonstrated previous experience as a project manager on a complex civil engineering project

·      Previous experience in earthworks and reinforced concrete works

·      International working experience

·      Proven experience managing operational and commercial aspects of projects



·      Strong organisational, leadership and management skills

·      Proven technical and project management skills

·      Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations

·      Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment

·      Good written and verbal communication skills
