Our company is currently recruiting an experienced Design Manager to be working onsite in Dublin, Ireland for a Tier 1 contractor committed to excellence, innovation and sustainability that delivers top notch services. The company is currently involved in complex technical projects in life sciences, pharmaceutical and data centre schemes across Europe. As a Design Manager you are expected to manage the design phase of the projects from conception to completion. You will lead a team of designers, engineers and consultants to develop a comprehensive design solution that meets project requirements on time and within the budget. 

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Lead the development of project design strategies, goals, and objectives in collaboration with project stakeholders and clients.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure that design plans meet project requirements and comply with relevant codes and standards.

  • Oversee the development of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical design concepts and drawings for construction projects.

  • Verify and approve design documents, specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

  • Responsible for quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain the integrity and consistency of design deliverables.

  • Lead the design reviews, audits, and inspections to identify and address any design-related issues and present reliable solutions.

  • Provide regular updates, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  • Report design & engineering progress in weekly client meetings, highlighting concerns in the ongoing project.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Design Management role.

  • Main contractor experience in high rise, commercial and residential engineering background is an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of design principles, construction method and health & safety.

  • Excellent IT skills.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
