Senior Commissioning Manager – Data Centre Project – Frankfurt, Germany
A leading European engineering contractor with a strong track record in high-tech construction is seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager for a major data centre development in Frankfurt. This is a full-time, permanent, site-based role offering the opportunity to lead commissioning activities on one of Europe’s most complex and technically advanced infrastructure projects.
This role is suited to a driven commissioning professional with strong leadership capabilities and a proven background managing multidisciplinary commissioning programmes in a mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the commissioning team and supervise package engineers, setting clear scopes of work and performance expectations.
Manage the full commissioning programme across all disciplines, ensuring alignment with milestones and contractual deadlines.
Oversee vendor FAT/FWT processes, including attendance where necessary.
Coordinate commissioning of Contractor-Furnished (CFCI) and Owner-Furnished (OFCI) equipment vendors.
Maintain full compliance with contract procedures and project documentation.
Communicate effectively with all commissioning stakeholders, including internal teams, vendors, and the client.
Provide regular updates during internal, vendor, and client commissioning meetings.
Mitigate risks, troubleshoot issues, and maintain project momentum under pressure.
Requirements:
Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), or minimum 5 years’ experience in a commissioning leadership role.
Proven expertise managing commissioning programmes in MEP or mission-critical construction.
Strong background in stakeholder and vendor coordination.
Excellent programme management and communication skills.
Experience working on data centre or similarly complex projects is highly desirable.
Strong documentation, scheduling, and reporting skills.
Ability to perform under pressure and lead multidisciplinary teams to successful project handover.
