We are assisting a leading instrumentation, mechanical & electrical contractor operating across Europe in their search for an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a Pre-Fabrication Facility in Coventry. This role includes estimating costs, preparing contracts, managing budgets, and ensuring that the pre-fabrication project align with financial goals. As a Quantity Surveyor you will work closely with design, procurement, and production teams to optimise the use of resources and maintain cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements: 

  • Prepare timely and accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.  

  • Manage comprehensive project budgets based on project scope, specifications, and contractual agreements. 

  • Work closely with Senior QS/ Commercial Director including project managers, engineers, and architects to finalise cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.  

  • Provide regular financial reports and forecasts providing analysis and insights on project cost performance.  

  • Communicate cost-related information/issues to Senior QS/ Commercial Director highlighting key issues and recommendations for corrective actions. 

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source and select materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. 

  • Ensure the final account is agreed within a specific project timeline. 

  • Prepare subcontract packages for procurement, agree contracts, and manage through to the final account.  

  • Strive to understand tasks assigned comprehensively, recognizing their importance in the overall project.  

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Commercial Management or related field. 

  • 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on pre-fabrication is desirable. 

  • Proficient in cost estimation software & tools. 

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to manage complex financial data. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. 

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of cost management.
