Site Manager - Prime residential schemes  Hampshire 

Our client is an established specialist main contractor delivering exceptional bespoke residential schemes across London and the Hampshire & Surrey regions. They have been established for over 70-years, have a strong forward order book a healthy financial position.

This contractor undertakes extremely high-end ‘one-off’ bespoke residential schemes, both refurbishments and new builds, for high-net-worth clients with individual project values ranging from £5m - £50m 

Due to continued growth in the region our client is now seeking experienced Site Managers to join the established delivery team working on some of the most prestigious projects under construction. 

Our client would prefer applications from Site Managers from a trades background (carpentry / joinery would be ideal but not essential) and applicants must have demonstrable experience within the high-end residential sector, having delivered quality refurbishment or new build schemes previously 

Generally the Site Manager will take control of ‘on-site’ activities to ensure works are carried out in planned and methodical manner whilst ensuring the highest levels of safety and quality are maintained. They will oversee positive and effective communication between the design and sub contractor teams. 

Other duties will include
•    Fully understand the contract, clients requirements and specifications
•    Manage the day to day activities and operations with regards to time and quality
•    Ensure a high level of Health and Safety on site by monitoring behaviour and enforcing company and legal policy. Complete statutory site inspections as required and the weekly safety inspections
•    Supervise and coordinate staff, sub-contractors and material suppliers to an agreed programme
•    Ensure that production targets are met whilst producing the highest quality of product and ensuring that costs are kept within budget
•    Short and medium term planning
•    Comply with a complete all relevant documentation on a weekly / monthly basis
•    Maintaining quality standards and control procedures
•    Managing labour and materials, including material requisitions and call off orders
•    Issuing site instructions, requests for information, confirmation of verbal instructions and company
•    permits
•    Working under the direction of a site based project manager
•    Liaise with senior site manager, project manager or contracts manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification and time risks
•    Maintain good site records
•    Plan the works effectively and maintain regular meeting / reporting schedules
•    Maintain a professional approach towards client, consultant, subcontractor and supplier relationships
•    Support and train subordinate staff and trainees
•    Motivate the workforce

Knowledge & Experience;(Preferred work experience and knowledge)
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in site management
•    A proven track record of experience in high quality construction residential projects
•    Good all round knowledge of construction processes and techniques
•    Proficient in project IT systems and software

Qualifications (ideal) 
•    First Aid trained / SMSTS trained & CSCS Card Holder
•    Degree in construction management or an HNC, HND or BTEC qualification
•    Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
