Due to continued expansion within the data centre sector, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a major data centre project in Austria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the civil engineering works, ensuring accurate cost control, measurement, and reporting across a broad scope of works. Working closely with project management, design teams, and site personnel, the Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in delivering the project on budget and supporting successful programme delivery. The civil engineering scope includes groundworks, underground drainage, service duct installation, pile caps, ground beams, pre-cast chambers, mechanical yard slabs, and high-precision floor slabs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts in line with contractual requirements
• Monitor and control subcontractor and supplier costs, ensuring adherence to budget and contractual obligations
• Maintain accurate commercial records, site diaries, and measurement documentation
• Provide cost advice to project management, including value engineering and risk mitigation
• Review and assess variations, change orders, and claims, negotiating with subcontractors and clients as required
• Support the preparation of tender submissions, procurement schedules, and contract documentation
• Liaise with project teams, design engineers, and site staff to ensure accurate measurement and reporting of works
• Produce regular reports on project costs, cash flow, and commercial performance for senior management

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally including data centres
• Strong knowledge of construction measurement, civil engineering works, and contract administration
• Experience with groundworks, drainage, concrete structures, and pre-cast elements
• Excellent understanding of cost control, valuations, and commercial reporting
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, CAD, or QS measurement packages)
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
• Ability to work in an international project environment

In Return, Our Client Offers
Negotiable salary
Relocation and accommodation support
Flights and travel allowance (where applicable)
Attractive bonus structure
