Quantity Surveyor 

Façade Replacement Projects. Location: Manchester, UK
Our client is a well-established regional main contractor delivering high-quality construction and refurbishment projects across the North West of England. With a strong reputation for excellence, the company specialises in façade replacement, building envelope works, and refurbishment schemes.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of a portfolio of smaller-scale façade replacement projects (£1m–£4m) across Manchester.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cost management, contract administration, and commercial reporting across multiple projects, ensuring works are delivered on budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors, the Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in maintaining strong commercial control and supporting project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts for multiple façade replacement projects
• Measure and value works-in-progress, including façade panels, cladding, glazing, and associated refurbishment works
• Prepare and issue interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts in accordance with contract requirements
• Monitor and control subcontractor and supplier costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and contractual obligations
• Maintain accurate commercial records, site diaries, and measurement documentation
• Provide commercial advice to project management, including risk management and value engineering
• Review and assess variations, change orders, and claims, negotiating with subcontractors and clients as required
• Support procurement activities, including tender assessments and contract documentation
• Liaise with project teams, site staff, and design consultants to ensure accurate measurement and reporting of works
• Produce regular reports on project costs, cash flow, and commercial performance for management

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on façade replacement or refurbishment projects (£1m–£4m)
• Strong knowledge of measurement, contract administration, and cost control
• Experience with subcontractor management, valuations, and commercial reporting
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, CAD, or QS measurement packages)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple smaller-scale projects simultaneously within Manchester
