Senior Project Manager – Civil Engineering London
Our client is a General Civil Engineering Contactor, established for over 40-years with a turnover of £120m+. They have successfully delivered schemes across the UK and Europe with a strong client base of international Tier:1 main contractors
This organisation undertakes general Civil Engineering works packages, mostly sub-surface including: Installation Of Duct Networks, Precast Chambers, Pressurised Systems, Drainage. RC Foundations & Slabs, as well as Roads, Hard & Soft Landscaping, Utilities & Power.
Due to continued growth our client needs to add to their delivery team and are now seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team on a project in Central London. This scheme is a £10m package of civils works, as part of a large residential and commercial development, in London’s West End (W1)
This scheme is a large hard and soft landscaping project in Covent Garden, London. Works will include waterproofing, installation of new utilities, drainage connections and paving, as well as installing new curb lines and balustrades to an existing building
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, the project objectives are met in line with company standards. You will be responsible for setting, maintaining, and leading the project organisation. You will oversee the project to ensure the desired result is achieved, the most efficient resources are used, and the stakeholders involved are satisfied.
Key Duties
• Delivery of major projects to programme, budget, HSEQ, client and contract requirements
• Agreeing the timescales, costs and resources needed to deliver the project
• Selecting, maintaining, and leading a project team
• Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services
• Reporting regularly on progress to the client
• Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders
• Resolving any issues/ delays which may occur
• Communicating with clients, contractors, colleagues, and suppliers on the progress of a project
• Demonstrating knowledge of all areas of construction
• Managing your site-based team and liaising with support services
• Managing the project commercially, including owning the budget, allocating resources to manage it, and reporting to the project director
• Any other reasonable requests as required by the needs of the business.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
• Degree qualified, HND/C as a minimum
• SMSTS
• Previous demonstrated experience as a Project Manager
• Previous experience in earthworks and reinforced concrete works
• Proven experience managing operational and commercial aspects of projects
• Strong organisational, leadership and management skills
• Proven technical and project management skills
• Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations
• Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment
• Good written and verbal communication skills
