An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Package Manager to join the project team on a major data centre development in Portugal. This is a site-based role with responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
The successful candidate will manage mechanical subcontractors, coordinate with internal teams and consultants, and ensure the mechanical works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Take full ownership of the mechanical package on site
• Manage mechanical subcontractors, suppliers and specialist vendors
• Act as the main point of contact for all mechanical package matters
• Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, CSA and commissioning teams
• Review and manage mechanical design information, technical submissions and RFIs
• Ensure compliance with programme, quality, safety and project specifications
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement corrective actions
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and handover documentation
• Support commercial activities including change control, progress tracking and valuations
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and environmental standards
• Experience as a Mechanical Package Manager or similar role on large-scale M&E projects
• Strong background in mechanical building services contracting
• Data centre experience preferred
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and complex work packages
• Strong organisational, coordination and communication skills
• Competent in MS Word, Excel and project planning tools
• Ability to work in Portugal (right to work required; Portuguese beneficial but not essential)
