As Design Manager, you’ll lead the project’s design and engineering function, coordinating submissions, resolving technical issues, and ensuring all disciplines are aligned with programme and client requirements. You’ll be the key link between internal teams, external consultants, and the client’s design group.
• Lead coordination with the client’s design team across all disciplines
• Manage internal design teams and external consultants to keep design development on programme
• Run design/engineering workshops to resolve issues early and ahead of site activity
• Oversee the full Technical Submittal (TS) process, ensuring timely and compliant submissions
• Drive the design query/RFI process and feed changes into change management
• Manage IFC releases and updates, ensuring all teams are working from current designs
• Chair weekly design meetings, escalating critical items and tracking progress
• Maintain and report on the design risk register
• Manage the design and submittal process for FF&E in administrative buildings
• Support weekly client meetings with clear design/engineering progress updates
• Coordinate contractor drawings, models, and approvals to support programme milestones
• Oversee as-builts, O&M documentation, and platform uploads
• Lead LEED requirement coordination with client and consultants, issuing regular reports
• Ensure quality plans and QA procedures are in place, including temporary works and traffic management designs
• Coordinate OFCI vendors through structured weekly meetings, ensuring timely delivery and compliance
• 5+ years’ experience delivering large-scale construction projects (fit-out, commercial, hospitality, education, industrial, or data centres)
• Data centre experience highly advantageous
• Degree in a relevant construction or engineering discipline (preferred)
• Strong communication, organisation, and multi-tasking skills
