As Mechanical Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of all mechanical systems across the project, ensuring design compliance, installation quality, and coordination with the wider MEP and construction teams. You’ll work closely with subcontractors, design consultants, commissioning teams and client representatives to keep the project progressing safely, efficiently, and to exacting standards.
• Assist in managing and coordinating all mechanical works on site, including HVAC, chilled water, fire protection, and other mechanical systems
• Review and comment on mechanical drawings, technical submittals and design documentation
• Support mechanical installation, testing, balancing and commissioning activities
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, standards, and QA procedures
• Work closely with electrical, civil, architectural and MEP teams to maintain coordination
• Monitor progress, report risks, and help drive programme performance
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and client engineers
• Support creation of handover documentation and commissioning reports
• Experience as a Mechanical Engineer on large construction or MEP projects
• Background in data centres, industrial or mission critical environments is highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling infrastructure, plant equipment), distribution, testing and commissioning
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and schematics
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to work full time in Portugal (relocation support typically provided)
