Health & Safety Manager – Sweden Our client is a specialist data centre contractor providing full turnkey solutions to clients across Europe. Headquartered in Ireland, the business delivers complex projects from initial design through to construction, covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and commissioning services. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join the project team on a major data centre development in Sweden. This is a site-based role. Responsibilities Requirements On offer
• Ensure the project operates in full compliance with the company’s Safety Management System
• Develop and implement construction stage health & safety plans
• Produce health & safety reports and analyse key performance metrics
• Keep senior management informed of health & safety performance and progress
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health & safety legislation and statutory requirements
• Oversee implementation of project-specific environmental and health & safety plans
• Support the development and review of method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action and permits to work
• Monitor compliance with project execution plans
• Promote and maintain best practice safety standards across the project
• Manage ongoing COSHH assessments and the control of hazardous substances
• Ensure safety interventions are completed, recorded and closed out
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections, documenting findings and following up on corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of statutory inspections and associated documentation
• Take a proactive approach to environmental, health & safety requirements
• Ensure subcontractors comply with project and company EHS policies and procedures
• Coordinate, manage and maintain site inductions and training
• Ensure appropriate PPE is available and managed on site
• Lead or assist with accident investigations and ensure timely reporting to the project management team
• Nebosh qualification is essential
• EU passport or rights to work in Sweden is essential
• Previous experience on data centre construction projects is desirable
• Third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing EHS on large-scale construction projects
• Strong knowledge of current environmental, health & safety legislation
• Flexible approach to working patterns when required
• Ability to manage all environmental, health & safety matters on site effectively
• Strong communication and IT skills, with experience maintaining reports and documentation
• Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
Negotiable basic salary (circa €85k - €100k)
