With a robust turnover exceeding £50 million, a highly regarded Groundworks Contractor in London is expanding its team and seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to take a lead role in project management. As the designated Number 1 on projects, you will contribute to the development of commercial strategies, ensuring the profitability of each project is maintained and maximized.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate a strong understanding of commercial aspects and factors influencing project profitability.
• Document Management: Create, review, and manage tender documentation, contracts, and formal notices. Engage in discussions with suppliers to ensure alignment.
• Risk Management: Exhibit professional determination to achieve desired outcomes while comprehensively understanding both commercial and financial risks.
• Project Experience: Prior experience in Groundworks, Piling, and Structures projects ranging from £1 million to £8 million.
• Negotiation Skills: Display strong negotiation skills and effective resolution abilities.
• Independence and Collaboration: Independently undertake key activities and maintain effective communication with peers, customers, site managers, engineers, and suppliers.
• Final Accounts: Contribute to the final accounts process.

Requirements: 

The ideal candidate will possess a Quantity Surveying degree with 2-5 years of experience in Groundworks/Civil Contracting, focusing on projects ranging from £1 million to £15 million. Demonstrated determination, hard work ethic, organizational skills, and a keenness to thrive in a competitive environment are essential. A clean driving licence and the ability to drive are prerequisites.
