Quantity Surveyor – Commercial/Retail Fit out – Newry

We are currently working with a well established fit out contractor with bases across Ireland and an excellent track record of successful construction to the highest degree over many years. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Newry. This would be a permanent position though they would explore the option of startign on a temporary basis and progressing to permanent later.

Responsibilities

•    Cost Planning & Budget Management:
Prepare initial cost plans and manage project budgets throughout the fit-out lifecycle. Track expenditure against allowances and provide accurate financial forecasts to ensure margin protection.
•    Subcontractor Procurement & Management:
Issue tender packages, carry out subcontractor comparisons, and manage contract negotiations. Ensure clear scope alignment and cost control throughout delivery of specialist trades and suppliers.
•    Valuations & Financial Reporting:
Prepare and submit interim valuations to clients. Monitor progress claims from subcontractors, carry out payment assessments, and report on cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) monthly.
•    Change Control & Variations:
Identify and manage changes to the works. Value variations, maintain change logs, and ensure timely agreement with both clients and subcontractors to avoid disputes and protect cash flow.
•    Commercial Support to Site Teams:
Work closely with project and site managers to ensure commercial decisions align with site progress and programme. Provide guidance on contractual matters and support with final account preparation.

Requirements

Must have relevant degree level qualification
Ideal candidate will have 5-6 years post qualification experience
Must live within commutable distance of Newry

Benefits

€85,000 - €90,000 + Benefits
