Health and Safety Lead - Frankfurt, Germany - Data Centre

Our client is a dedicated Data Centre Construction company providing end-to-end solutions. They operate throughout Europe. As an organization with a focus on engineering, they have evolved into one of the leading and most reliable companies in our sector. Currently, they are actively engaged in the construction of multiple Turnkey Data Centre Projects.

We are excited to announce an open position for a Health and Safety Lead to join our team. This role will be based on-site in Frankfurt, Germany.

Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to the project & company Safety Management system.
  • Adherence to relevant Environmental, Health and safety statutory provisions & legislation.
  • Adherence to the company's Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
  • Coordination in the development of task-specific Method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permits to work.
  • Compliance with the project execution plan.
  • Management and maintenance of good Safety Practices.
  • Ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments and control of hazardous substances.
  • Ensuring that safety interventions are completed and registered.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, document results, and follow up on any corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of statutory inspections and make them available for project activities, tools, and plant.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to project EHS requirements.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ensure project sub-contractors adhere to project and group EHS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure project PPE is resourced and available.
  • Compile and carry out Toolbox talks as necessary.
  • Assist or carry out accident investigation reports in a timely manner and ensure communication 
  • Ensure welfare and hygiene facilities are in place, managed, and maintained.
  • Include up-to-date documentation with the Safety File.
  • Attend daily activity briefings and whiteboard meetings.
  • Maintain waste reduction and recycling programs in line with project policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Relevant third-level degree qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • 5+ years of experience managing environmental, health, and safety on large construction sites.
  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health, and safety legislation.
  • Flexibility in working patterns when necessary.
  • Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health, and safety issues on-site.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Computer skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good team-working skills.
