Our Client a leading €400m+ turnover contractor working on industrial, pharmaceutical and datacentre project sectors require an electrical authorised person to be based in their Head Office primarily working from the very early in the project stages under the instruction from the Lead Appointed Person to ensure all compliance by the site teams with the Electrical Safe Systems of Work including issuing permits for scope of works. The desired individual will be suitably qualified with relevant training and experience and 5+ Years’ experience of working on Live systems and managing energisation  start-up of Systems within an electrical contracting environment.

The desired individual would be process driven with a very good understanding of Project Specifications, SLD’s, Cable Solutions Data Sheets, earthing arrangements, Busbar, busway systems including interlocking of secondary energy sources. You must have a good knowledge of FAT/SAT reporting for all Electrical Switchgear philosophy, Control systems with the ability to manage switching and isolating of Medium Voltage Systems.

You must have experience of working on MV/HV systems as ‘Authorised Person or Appointed Person’ experience and be able to follow SOPs and adhere to High Voltage Safety Rules.

Your responsibilities will include interpretation of basic electrical protection under fault conditions, complete safety documents and lock out/tag out procedures and philosophies, carry out review of Switchgear Distribution Topology and controls prior to start-up. You will also support specialist Testing & Commissioning contractors to carry out early reviews and agree commissioning sequences and test scripts. Additional responsibilities will include liaising with control system providers in the development of the system handover under permit control schedule and protocols, witnessing coordinate specific tests and ensuring all pre- and post-energisation testing & commissioning tagging activities are witnessed and authorised, etc
