Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centre Design – Oslo, Norway

A leading engineering contractor specialising in large-scale data centre delivery is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their high-performing team in Oslo, Norway. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment on cutting-edge infrastructure projects across Northern Europe.

As part of a multidisciplinary design team, you will be responsible for the electrical design and integration of mission-critical systems, helping to shape the next generation of high-efficiency, high-reliability data centres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solve complex interface challenges during project execution, providing practical and innovative solutions.
  • Review and enhance electrical designs and LV switchgear layouts to ensure compliance with project specifications and single-line diagrams.
  • Monitor on-site installation quality, preparing and managing snagging lists as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Perform advanced electrical calculations and produce detailed schematics, layouts, and specifications.
  • Design and specify robust, efficient electrical systems tailored to the specific needs of mission-critical facilities.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and international electrical regulations and industry standards.
  • Generate and manage all technical project documentation, including reports, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in data centre projects.
  • Strong knowledge of LV systems, electrical distribution, and data centre power infrastructure.
  • Experience with European/Nordic building codes, electrical standards, and sustainability frameworks.
  • Proven design management experience in data centres, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (mandatory).

  • Deep expertise in data centre electrical systems and integration with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, fire safety).
  • Familiar with the spatial, acoustic, and functional implications of electrical design within complex 3D environments.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented with a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; confident in client-facing environments.
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple ongoing projects under tight deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic about innovation, continuous improvement, and staying current with new technologies and regulations.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to cross-functional teamwork and excellence.
