We are partnered with a leading Cost Consultancy operating across Europe involved in Data Centre, Commercial, Residential, Education, Healthcare, Sport, and Retail clients in their search for a highly skilled and detail-oriented MEP Cost Manager. As MEP Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing and controlling costs related to MEP projects ranging from £5m to £500m, ensuring financial efficiency and supporting project delivery within the budget.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to develop comprehensive cost assessments and prepare accurate cost estimates for MEP projects during the planning and design phases.
Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring they align with overall project goals while monitoring and reporting on budget performance, identifying any issues and developing corrective actions as needed.
Implement cost control measures to ensure project costs are managed effectively by tracking expenditures, forecasting future costs, and providing regular financial updates to project stakeholders.
Help in the tendering and procurement process for MEP systems, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids & negotiating contracts with suppliers & subcontractors.
Prepare regular cost reports & provide project stakeholders with timely updates on project financial performance.
Oversee changes to MEP scope, specifications, and requirements, assessing the impact on project costs and schedules, and documenting changes through change orders and variations.
Negotiate change orders with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure fair and equitable resolution of cost-related issues.
Proactively address risks and issues to prevent cost overruns and delays.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Notable experience in MEP Cost Management with a proven track record of managing costs on large-scale projects.
Proficiency in cost management software & tools.
MRICS or other related professional body membership is beneficial.
Consultancy or end user client experience is an advantage.
Data Centre experience is ideal.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities & capable of interpreting complex data and making informed financial decisions.
Prominent level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of cost management and reporting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
