M&E Quantity Surveyor – High-End Fit-Out & Refurbishment – Central London

An established contractor with over 20 years of market presence and a turnover exceeding £150 million is entering an exciting phase of growth in the M&E London market. Known for delivering high-end fit-out and refurbishment projects, they are now looking to appoint a talented and driven M&E Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role in their expanding commercial team.


This is a rare opportunity to work closely with the Commercial Director, directly influencing the commercial performance and success of prestigious projects in Central London.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate, competitive, and detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical packages across high-spec fit-out and refurbishment schemes
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and alignment with financial forecasts
  • Lead the preparation of tender documentation, including BoQs, specifications, and contractual scopes for M&E works
  • Produce and maintain cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and valuations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist in procurement of subcontractors, materials, and plant – negotiating terms to deliver best value
  • Provide commercial support to project teams, resolving contract variations and advising on risk management
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with delivery teams to ensure that commercial and financial targets are being met

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a main contractor or M&E subcontractor environment
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems and terminology, particularly in the context of complex refurbishment and fit-out projects
  • Proficient in preparing cost plans, procurement strategies, and commercial reporting
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills; confident dealing with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Driven, commercially astute, and eager to grow within a business that champions autonomy and progression
