Lead Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centres - Remote
€120,000 - €125,000 + Holidays + Package
Location: Germany (Local Hire – Frankfurt / Berlin / Munich)

A boutique-to-mid-size specialist engineering consultancy with a strong reputation in mission-critical and hyperscale data centre design is growing its German presence and seeking a Senior / Lead Electrical Design Engineer.

This consultancy is recognised for delivering robust, resilient, and future-proof power architectures for some of Europe’s largest data centre developments. Engineers here work closely with clients, architects, and delivery teams, playing a central role in shaping design outcomes rather than simply producing drawings.

You will lead the electrical design on large data centre projects, acting as a key technical authority within multidisciplinary teams and client-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for hyperscale and colocation data centres
• Develop HV/MV/LV distribution strategies and redundancy concepts
• Manage design coordination across multiple disciplines
• Review and approve electrical calculations, specifications, and drawings
• Provide technical leadership across concept, detailed design, and IFC stages
• Support construction teams and commissioning activities
• Ensure compliance with German regulations and international standards

Requirements

• Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer
• Proven data centre electrical design experience (essential)
• Strong understanding of HV/MV/LV systems, UPS, generators, and resilience design
• Experience working within engineering consultancies or technical advisory roles
• Locally based in Germany (local hire only)
