We are partnered with a leading engineering contractor operating across Europe with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, committed to excellence, innovation, and reliability. Due to continued growth, we are now urgently looking for an experienced Electrical Authorised Person for a Data Centre project for the initial 4+ months. As an Electrical Authorised Person, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Electrical Engineers and Supervisors to ensure all electrical works are executed in accordance with project plans, safety protocols, and industry standards while ensuring the timely and safe completion of electrical systems installation, testing, and commissioning. The ideal candidate is a qualified Authorised Person with experience in industrial, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects with availability for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Assist a team of Electrical Engineers and Supervisors, ensuring all tasks are carried out efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with the project programme under the instruction from the Lead Appointed Person
Ensure that electrical works on-site adhere to the project schedule, quality standards, and contractual obligations, helping to meet deadlines and avoid delays.
Ensuring all electrical activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards including LV, MV, & HV safety rules.
Oversee and control permits for all energised working activities under scope of work.
Liaise with the Electrical Project Manager, Site Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the project, addressing any on-site issues promptly.
Oversee and ensure the completion of electrical testing and inspections, ensuring systems are compliant with technical specifications, safety standards, and statutory regulations.
Ensure all electrical works are appropriately documented, including maintaining logs, permits, safety certificates, and updating project records as required.
Identify and resolve issues related to electrical installations, ensuring that the project remains on schedule and within budget.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or strong Electrical Trade with relevant training and experience.
5 + years of experience in electrical engineering or a similar role, with a proven background in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects.
3+ years' experience in Electrical Testing & Verification.
FAT/SAT reporting experience is desirable.
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, installation, testing, and commissioning with familiarity with MV/HV/LV systems and electrical control and distribution systems.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team of engineers and supervisors.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with stakeholders and ensure smooth project delivery.
Meticulous in reviewing electrical installations, testing procedures, and documentation.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during electrical work.
