We are assisting a leading contractor with a mission to deliver premium services on time, safely and within the budget in their search for an experienced Architectural Technician for a Cleanroom project in Northeast England. As Architectural Technician you will play a key role in developing detailed technical drawings and plans for projects, ensuring that designs comply with regulations, industry standards, and client requirements. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to produce detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Develop detailed technical drawings and designs using CAD software that translates architectural concepts into accurate, workable plans for construction.
Ensure that all drawings and designs comply with local building regulations, health and safety standards, and other statutory requirements.
Develop precise construction details that consider structural integrity, materials, and building systems.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to coordinate design solutions, ensuring compatibility between architectural designs and other systems.
Assist in preparing detailed specifications for construction materials, fixtures, and equipment based on design intent and project requirements.
Perform site visits and surveys to gather information for drawings and design development and ensure that on-site work aligns with technical specifications.
Produce 3D models using Revit/Navisworks, renderings, and visualisations to help clients and project stakeholders understand design concepts and technical aspects.
Support the design process by providing technical input and recommending solutions to improve functionality, constructability, and sustainability of cleanroom projects.
Prepare up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, schedules, and records of revisions ensuring that all documentation meets project deadlines and quality standards.
Work closely with clients and contractors, responding to technical queries and providing clarification on design details and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Degree or qualifications in Architectural Technology or a related field.
3+ years' experience in Architectural Technician role within construction with focus in cleanroom construction.
Proficient in CAD software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, & BIMCollab.
Strong knowledge in Dynamo Scripting and 3rd Party plugins is desirable.
Good understanding of ISO19650 is desirable.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations with familiarity in modern building techniques and sustainable design practices is desirable.
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that technical drawings are accurate and meet design and regulatory requirements.
Ability to identify design or construction issues and propose practical, efficient solutions.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
