Quantity Surveyor – Cambridgeshire An established and growing construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a main contracting background to join its commercial team in Cambridgeshire. The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, education, commercial, and rail sectors, covering new build, refurbishment, and fit-out works. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working across varied project types while applying strong contractor-side commercial expertise in a professional consultancy environment. Manage all commercial aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring effective cost control, value engineering, and commercial reporting in line with contractor best practice.
• Procurement & Subcontract Management
Prepare tender documentation, evaluate subcontractor packages, place orders, and manage subcontractor accounts, including variations, valuations, and final accounts.
• Cost Reporting & Forecasting
Produce accurate cost value reconciliations (CVRs), cash flow forecasts, and monthly commercial reports, identifying risks and opportunities and advising project stakeholders accordingly.
• Change Control & Contract Administration
Administer variations, change events, and contractual correspondence under standard forms of contract, supporting project teams to protect commercial position and maximise project value.
• Stakeholder & Project Team Collaboration
Work closely with site teams, project managers, clients, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered commercially efficiently, on time, and within budget across a broad range of sectors and work types.
Must be based within a commutable distance of Cambridgeshire
Must have relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent construction background
