Senior Quantity Surveyor Our client is a €1bn turnover Tier 1 main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. They deliver major, complex construction projects with a particular emphasis on Data Centres, Distribution Centres, and large-scale commercial builds. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring cost control, value optimisation, and financial compliance throughout the project lifecycle. As part of their ongoing expansion across mainland Europe, the company is now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a new-build hyperscale data centre project in Portugal.
• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the project from pre-construction through to completion.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract and supplier packages.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flow to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Provide regular cost value reconciliations and forecasts to the Commercial Manager and Project Director.
• Work closely with project teams to identify and manage risks, variations, and change control.
• Prepare interim valuations, progress applications, and final accounts.
• Support procurement strategy, tender analysis, and contract award recommendations.
• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain strong working relationships and achieve project objectives.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects, ideally data centres or similar high-value industrial builds.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts (NEC or FIDIC experience advantageous).
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple work packages and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience working on major European projects is highly desirable.
