Senior Quantity Surveyor – Data Centres – Portugal

We are currently partnering with a globally present Main Contractor who specialise in Industrial, Data Centre, Pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Portugal and contribute to the leadership of the commercial element of this Data Centre construction project.

Responsibilities

•   Cost Management & Budget Control
Manage project budgets, cost planning, forecasting, and monthly cost/value reconciliations, ensuring full financial visibility and control throughout the project lifecycle.
•   Procurement & Tendering
Lead the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation of commercial terms with subcontractors and suppliers to secure best value while maintaining compliance.
•   Contract Administration
Oversee the full administration of contracts, including payment applications, change management, valuations, variations, claims, and agreement of final accounts.
•   Reporting & Risk Management
Prepare detailed commercial reports, track key financial indicators, and identify risks, opportunities, and potential cost impacts, providing clear recommendations to senior project leadership.
•   Stakeholder & Client Liaison
Act as a key commercial contact for clients, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring strong communication, timely issue resolution, and alignment on commercial matters.

Requirements

Must have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must have relevant degree level qualifications
Must have EU Passport or RTW in Portugal
